Chlorine applications/dosing
Solid chlorine products come in tablets, pills or granules, which are composed of stabilized chlorine (in the form of trichloroisocyanuric acid) so that it is released slowly on contact with water, which allows for regular and longer dosing of chlorine and, therefore, its disinfectant action. Contains adjuvants that provide functions such as algaecides (boric acid, copper sulfate), flocculants (aluminum sulfate), bluing agents (copper sulfate), etc. They have the advantage of treating the water more completely as well as being easy to handle, since it is solid. However, it does not allow automatic dosing with flow control systems as liquid chlorine does. Its application is carried out by means of skinners or floating buoys for its correct diffusion.
